INDUSTRY PROJECT
FASHION SCHOOL FOR DESIGN - DRIVEN SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION IN COLLABORAZION WITH C.L.A.S.S.

Starting from 2022, Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda Ente del Terzo Settore renovates its commitment towards responsible and green fashion with a new initiative designed ad hoc for Fashion Graduate Italia: FASHION SCHOOL FOR DESIGNERS – DRIVEN SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION. The project has been developed in strategic partnership and with the support of C.L.A.S.S. (Creativity, Lifestyle And Sustainable Synergy).

C.L.A.S.S., (Creativity Lifestyle and Sustainable Energy), an international eco hub founded by Giusy Bettoni since 2007, supports a new generation of fashion in which the combination of design, innovation, communication and responsibility gives shape to a conscious and competitive business, able to play both an economic and social role. C.L.A.S. supports the entire supply chain to start a CHANGE in the system by activating VALUES that address the contemporary consumer in a clear and direct way.

The project ‘Fashion Schools for design – driven sustainable innovation’ is presented at the eighth edition of Fashion Graduate Italia at BASE Milano.

In accordance with the theme of this edition of Fashion Graduate Italia, ‘Sustainable Innovation’, Piattaforma Moda invited students from schools, academies and associated fashion institutes to take part in a preliminary training course for the design and production of an outfit according to a responsible approach that starts with design, moves on to the choice of sustainable materials supplied by some of the hub’s partner companies, and also involves a thought on the communication of one’s project.

In order to create the outfits, the selected students attended two trainings held by C.L.A.S.S.: “Introduction to a New Generation of Fashion” and “Introduction to Smart Ingredients”, during which they shared the values of the new generation of fashion (which integrates sustainability with design and innovation) and the characteristics of innovative and sustainable materials used to create the outfits.

The process of developing the final 11 looks was directly supervised by creative director Olivia Spinelli – Coordination and Creative Direction of IED Moda Milano and member of the Artistic Committee of FGI 2022- and tutor Camilla Carrara -founder and zero-waste designer ZEROBARRACENTO, project coordinator of C.L.A.S.S.

City of Daegu (Korea) – Ordinary effects

The fashion show dedicated to the city of Daegu features 13 students from Keimyung University and Kyungpook National University, who will present their capsule collections. The concept of the fashion show, Ordinary effects, is inspired by the research of a harmony of Korean tradition and modernity, using recycling materials.
