Moodboards and portfolios are tools we can use to communicate with different audiences: for example, an application to a university of applied arts, a team of collaborators, an employer, the jury of a competition…
At the same time, both tools allow us to gain a deeper understanding of our own career and professional identity, highlighting our strengths, distinguishing the strongest ideas from the less effective ones, and helping us to understand what we would like to do in the future.
Both of these tools require editing work, meaning the selection of the materials best suited to achieving the communicative goal towards the audience and context we are addressing; and visualization, which must be as free and creative as possible when we are trying to communicate – in addition to our skills – our personality. Finally, thanks to the layout, we can compose very different materials into a coherent, original, and effective discourse.
The ONE ANOTHER workshop aims to illustrate these concepts – editing, visualization, and layout – in a simple and immediate way through visual examples from various works by students and professionals. After the first half hour spent sharing these materials, the audience will be invited to an interactive discussion through the digital platform MURAL.
