Responsible Fashion: a Conversation around the Design and the Experience of Sustainability and Inclusivity
Istituto Marangoni Milano • The School of Fashion
Simona Ironico, Fashion Business Programme Leader at Istituto Marangoni Milan, will engage the participants in a discussion about contemporary trends in responsible fashion. The purpose of the session will be to encourage the audience to approach the topic under the multiple perspectives of environmental and social sustainability, as well as diversity and inclusivity.
Virtuous practices involving creatives, companies and consumers will be discussed at all the stages of the supply chain: from innovative fibers to post-consumer upcycling, from pre-owned marketplaces to adaptive fashion. The workshop will also explore the new frontiers of sustainability and inclusivity under the impact of the digital transformation, critically evaluating the opportunities offered by the virtualization of fundamental operations as designing, prototyping, fitting, buying, promoting, selling, and even consuming.
