Katie Dominy is Co-Founder & Co-President ARTS THREAD, also currently researcher for Comme des Garçons, Future Concept Lab Milan and previous positions include Senior Trend Editor at WGSN.
Every year 1000s of students graduate from art and design schools worldwide and we globally now have a strong desire to see what these emerging talents are creating from fashion design and textiles to ceramics and fine arts.
It was this thought that prompted Katie Dominy and Alex Brownless from London to create a new online platform ARTS THREAD to help employers find the latest talent and for galleries and collectors to discover the newest talent first!
Both Alex and Katie have a background in design and met whilst working in London for the international trend platform WGSN. That was back in 2009 and now Arts Thread has over 650 schools on its platform as well as access to over 300,000 art and design students and graduates worldwide. The team work with the most prestigious schools globally and, amongst them obviously also the Italian Schools.
For these looking to find the latest talent, Arts Thread gives the employer or collector the very newest to choose from. The website also helps emerging talent by running exhibitions of new work at prestigious trade events such as Who’s Next and Prémière Vision in Paris and showcasing creatives at festivals such as Milan Design Week and London Design Festival.
The Arts Thread team has also partnered with brands such as Levi’s, Nike, Urban Outfitters and Eastpak to run competitions to help new talents. If you are looking to spot new talent, take a look at the Arts Thread website.
